We are still a few months away from the most important video game conference at E3 so it goes without saying that releasing new gameplay trailers at this point in the year is certainly not expected. However, Canadian developer Bioware have surprised just about everyone by releasing this new gameplay trailer for the upcoming Dragon Age Inquisition which now has a firm date of October 7, 2014 for Canada/USA and October 9th for those in Europe.
Here is the official launch trailer for EA/Respawn’s Titanfall that is due to be released next week on March 11 on Microsoft’s Xbox One. This marks the first potential blockbuster release of the next generation console war and surely everyone in Redmond is going to be hoping that it boosts Xbox One sales and becomes the next big franchise the system desperately needs.
After winning a ton of awards last year developer Naughty Dog is back with some single-player DLC for their highly acclaimed title, The Last of Us. Entitled “Left Behind” the DLC takes place long before Ellie meets Joel in the game and instead focuses on her and her best friend, Riley. That’s all I’m really going to say to avoid spoiling anything for those who still haven’t played the game.
Here is a totally hilarious advertisement for the new Star Trek Video Game coming April 23 featuring good old William Shatner in yet another “fight” with his nemesis…the rubber suit Gorn as they continue their “battle” first seen over forty years ago! Not sure about the game but this is funny and a must see for original series fans.
Call me a purist but I wish that developer Digital Extremes and publisher Namco Bandai had decided to keep the original Gorn design since it has become so iconic to the series. Yes, I realize that the “Gorn Fight” in the original series episode “Arena” is widely ridiculed as being one of the worst onscreen fights in cinematic history but you have to admit that it is clearly in “so bad it’s good” territory. I would have loved to have seen new Kirk (Chris Pine) wrestle with a man in a bad rubber suit that moved as if it were a 200 year old geriatric patient yet it was not meant to be.
Well, all good things must come to an end thus here is the trailer for Citadel, the last Mass Effect 3 single-player DLC that releases tomorrow. Even though the game’s overall narrative is decidedly bleak I must say that Bioware seems to have thought that it was a good idea to lighten the mood a bit with this last piece of DLC and dial up the fan service to the nines.
Here is the launch trailer for Blizzard’s Starcraft II: Heart of the Swarm (2013) expansion due to be released March 12 for the PC/OS X. Most of the footage is reused from previous trailers yet the quality of the CG is simply amazing and makes one wish that Blizzard actually made a movie.
It’s been a long time since the last Star Trek video game trailer set in J.J. Abrams’ rebooted universe. This upcoming third-person game is set after the 2009 reboot movie and before the soon to be released Star Trek Into Darkness. Although the plot was written by Marianne Krawczyk who worked as a writer for the video game God of War II she in turn developed the plot with help from feature film writers Alex Kurtzman and Bob Orci who penned both Star Trek (2009) and Into Darkness (2013).
