Xbox One Review – Dead Rising 3: Chaos Rising

I feel like I am becoming a broken record when I say this – if you’ve already played the first two DLC Dead Rising 3 single-player packs then you know exactly what to expect as Dead Rising 3: Chaos Rising doesn’t deviate much from them.  That is incredibly unfortunate as Capcom Vancouver doesn’t look as if it is going to somehow release a remarkable piece of additional software and is merely content to cobble together a bare-bones package in order to make a few extra bucks.

Xbox One Review – Dead Rising 3: Fallen Angel

Dead Rising 3: Fallen Angel is the second single-player campaign DLC released for Dead Rising 3 and unfortunately, it follows the exact same structure set down in the first installment, Operation Broken Eagle by essentially changing the character model but utilizing the same maps with a series of similar fetch quests.  If you want more Dead Rising 3 it might be a better and certainly cheaper idea just to replay the main game over and over again.

Xbox 360 – Remember Me (2013) Review

Futuristic Neo-Paris comes alive with sumptuous production design and striking visuals that more than show this current generation of consoles still has a few tricks up its sleeve.  Throw in an appropriately rocking original soundtrack and a gripping hard science fiction narrative with more than a few twists and one would think developer Dontnod has a real winner on its hands.  Unfortunately, a little thing called gameplay almost ruins the entire experience.

Gameplay – Remember Me (2013)

Ten minutes of nice looking gameplay footage featuring snazzy lighting effects from Capcom’s upcoming Remember Me. Of note: Only in video games can someone avoid being perforated by a helicopter mounted chain machine gun where pilots seem to be especially picked for duty who are clearly blind as a bat. I can perhaps suspend disbelief if it were a case where the shots miss as the protagonist scurries away into hiding but do you really believe that the main character can avoid projectiles for almost the entire running time of this ten minute footage?
