Gameplay Trailer – Dragon Age Inquisition (2014)

by Master Pillow

We are still a few months away from the most important video game conference at E3 so it goes without saying that releasing new gameplay trailers at this point in the year is certainly not expected. However, Canadian developer Bioware have surprised just about everyone by releasing this new gameplay trailer for the upcoming Dragon Age Inquisition which now has a firm date of October 7, 2014 for Canada/USA and October 9th for those in Europe.

Dragon Age Inquisition is the third entry in the Dragon Age franchise and obviously the first to be released for next-gen systems (PS4 and Xbox One) although it will also be available for the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3. Regularly readers of this blog will realize that I am probably in the minority opinion that Bioware’s last game, Mass Effect 3, was an excellent title including the original ending but it has to be said that many other fans surely did not have the same view. Regardless, Dragon Age Inquisition is Bioware’s first title to be released after Mass Effect 3 and I’m sure many fans are hoping that they manage to hit it out of the park.

I have to say that this trailer hits just about all the right notes while showcasing the snazzy upgraded visuals as well as the Frostbite 3 engine that it is running on. Obviously, there’s no way that the Xbox 360 or PS3 versions will match these visuals so this is just about as good a reason as any to upgrade to the PS4 or Xbox One. Then again, those with powerful gaming PCs will have no trouble running the game.
