Photography – New York City (2013)

I was pleasantly surprised that many readers flocked to my recent September Galactic Pillow Update post to take a look at some of the Instagram photos that I uploaded from my recent trip to New York City. Therefore, I’ve decided to upload a few more Instagram shots that I took in this post.
Some readers have asked me what camera I was using to take these photos of which the answer is my Nokia Lumia 920 and my iPhone 5. I took my Sony NEX-5X with me as well but due to my schedule I really only had both my smartphones with me wherever I went.
Most of these photos are from my Lumia 920 because it shoots in widescreen (16:9) which is great for taking landscapes and buildings although it makes it a bit more difficult to crop into Instagram’s square dimensions depending on how I set up my shot. I’m no expert photographer and many of these photos I took were spur-of-the-moment ones when I was just either walking through the city or sitting on the sightseeing Double-Decker bus.
I was in New York for five days and ended up shooting about 1500 shots between both smartphones which really makes me wonder how we all “survived” a short while ago when we only had finite amounts of film.
