Mass Effect 3: Citadel (2013) Trailer

by Master Pillow

Well, all good things must come to an end thus here is the trailer for Citadel, the last Mass Effect 3 single-player DLC that releases tomorrow.  Even though the game’s overall narrative is decidedly bleak I must say that Bioware seems to have thought that it was a good idea to lighten the mood a bit with this last piece of DLC and dial up the fan service to the nines.

Although many fans would probably wish for DLC that adds to the end of the game that’s just not going to happen considering it would force Bioware to choose a “canon” ending for Commander Shepard.  At this point we have no idea which direction Bioware intends to take Mass Effect 4 so there is even a possibility that we’ll never get a “canon” ending anyways especially if the next installment is a prequel or takes place in another dimension/timeline.  Heck, it can be set thousands of years in the future where no one mentions Shepard at all.

Nevertheless, Citadel seems much more sentimental and even pandering to certain fans who wanted to see more focus on the character relationships over expository scenes pertaining to Leviathans or the dreaded Catalyst.  Still, seeing Miranda in her new revealing red dress or female Commander Shepard dancing with Garrus is something I really did not expect although I am sure some fans are giddy with delight.  As usual there is much gunfire and some nondescript gang who seem pissed off at something or other but as the trailer makes clear, this is DLC that is meant to bring everyone back for one last hurrah.

As always expect my review for this sometime soon.

Mass Effect 3: Citadel releases tomorrow March 5 on the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC for a rather hefty $14.99.
